Data sources + attribution
Last updated: 2026-04-29
We surface every fact on WealthManagement.sg with a SourceChip indicating the source method, observation date, and confidence tier. This page consolidates the data sources we use, the licences under which we use them, and the attribution we owe.
Confidence tiers
| Tier | Meaning | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| A | Regulator-published | MAS FID, ACRA registries, MAS Enforcement Database |
| B | Firm-published | Firm websites, annual reports, press releases |
| C | Estimated / inferred | Model outputs (e.g. AUM estimator), peer extrapolation |
| D | Self-disclosed unverified | Claim-flow submissions before email-domain verification |
Source: MAS Financial Institutions Directory
Used for: every firm's MAS licence type, licence number, permitted activities, registered address, phone, and website.
Source URL: eservices.mas.gov.sg/fid
Use basis: the MAS Financial Institutions Directory is published by the Monetary Authority of Singapore for public consumption. We aggregate, deduplicate, and present the data with attribution.
Source: ACRA — data.gov.sg open data
Used for: Unique Entity Numbers (UEN), entity types, status, registered addresses (basic dataset).
Source URL: data.gov.sg (Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority datasets).
Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence (free for personal and commercial use). Attribution: "Contains information from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), accessed via data.gov.sg, used under the Singapore Open Data Licence."
Source: ACRA BizFile API (paid)
Used for: enriched firm data — directors, shareholders, paid-up capital — for the top tier of firms in our directory.
Source URL: bizfile.gov.sg/apimarketplace
Use basis: per-record paid lookup. We retain and present derived data subject to ACRA's Bizfile API terms of use.
Source: MAS Investor Alert List
Used for: flagging entities that MAS has identified as potentially being wrongly perceived as licensed or authorised.
Source URL: mas.gov.sg/regulation/investor-alert-list
Use basis: regulator-published list, mirrored as published. We do not editorialise or extend MAS's framing.
Source: MAS Representatives Register
Used for: per-RNF verification of advisor records. The Register is search-only and reCAPTCHA-protected for bulk access; we use it for spot-checks rather than enumeration.
Source URL: eservices.mas.gov.sg/rr
Source: firm websites
Used for: advisor names, RNFs, biographies, role titles, and other firm-published information that the firm has chosen to make public on its own website.
Use basis: firms in Singapore are required by MAS regulatory disclosure rules to publish their licensed representatives' names and RNFs. We harvest only what the firm has chosen to publish, and we honour any robots.txt instructions.
Source: news + press
Used for: firm news on `/firms/[slug]/news` pages.
Use basis: where we cite a publication, we link to the original article and use only the headline + a short summary. Full article copyright remains with the publisher.
